New Age Cohorts for Field Lacrosse
Aligning with Lacrosse Canada, the PCFLL announces new two-year age cohorts for Field Lacrosse for Youth and Women's Field Lacrosse.
Cohorts will now be referred to "Under #" meaning that players must not turn that age during that calendar year.
Additionally, the following age cohorts no longer exist:
Youth U18;
Women's U8; and
Women's U12.
The new age cohorts are as follows, the age reflected will be the age the player may turn during 2023, with the 2023/2024 season birth years in parenthesis
Mixed Youth (Men’s Field)
U7 = 5 and 6 (2018 and 2017)
U9 = 7 and 8 (2016 and 2015)
U11 = 9 and 10 (2014 and 2013)
U13 = 11 and 12 (2012 and 2011)
U15 = 13 and 14 (2010 and 2009)
U17 = 15 and 16 (2008 and 2007)
U19 = 17 and 18 (2006 and 2005)
Players born in 2004 and earlier may register for Senior Men's Lacrosse.
Female Youth (Women’s Field)
U7 = 5 and 6 (2018 and 2017)
U9 = 7 and 8 (2016 and 2015)
U11 = 9 and 10 (2014 and 2013)
U13 = 11 and 12 (2012 and 2011)
U15 = 13 and 14 (2010 and 2009)
U17 = 15 and 16 (2008 and 2007)
U19 = 17 and 18 (2006 and 2005)
Players born in 2004 and earlier may register for Senior Women's Lacrosse.
For clarity, a U13 player may not turn 13 during the calendar year the season begins in (2023). If that player turns 13 in early 2024, there is no change to the player's status for the 2023 season - meaning they remain a U13 player until the following season.
